What exactly do I mean when I say WRONG foods?

For starters, the most common problem foods contain:
sugar
refined oils
processed ingredients

While enjoyable in moderation under normal circumstances, cutting down on foods with these ingredients and making healthier swaps will help anybody start feeling better.

Unfortunately we sometimes still experience unpleasant symptoms, even after making healthy changes. This is where you need to do some research and find out what foods are "wrong" for you. When I say “the wrong food” it's important to note that what works for one individual can be "wrong" for another.

How do we find this out?

The first steps you should take is food journalling, shortly followed by an elimination diet.

What's an elimination diet?

Elimination diets cut out common allergens and suspected triggers of symptoms. After giving your body time to reset, you introduce foods one at a time. The purpose of an elimination diet is to get a clear picture of what foods are making you feel off.

Elimination diets are NOT meant to be long term. This type of diet should be done alongside someone to support you to ensure they are done properly - one of the reasons being so you don't miss out on important nutrients. When doing an elimination diet it requires a more comprehensive approach - the elimination diet alone will not "fix" your problems. We repeat what we do not repair. If you are doing an elimination diet on it’s own and nothing else to make long term changes....you will find yourself back in the same boat as where you started - a frustrated human with the same annoying symptoms!

It’s possible to help your gut with the right method so you can go back to enjoying a variety of foods without those dang symptoms.
